Fluent in Home - Linen Bottle Bag in Terracotta
Reliable shipping
Flexible returns
The kind of wrapping that doesn't end up in the bin. This is a wine bottle bag made from 100% linen in a warm terracotta that sits somewhere between a sun-baked tile and a persimmon in early October. It closes with a grosgrain ribbon in navy and red, tied in a bow that somehow manages to look effortless even when it clearly isn't. The whole thing is sewn by hand, one at a time, in Oakland, California.
Fluent in Home makes linens the way linens used to be made: small batches, considered materials, no shortcuts. The result is an object that doubles as a gift on its own, and then sticks around long after the bottle is gone. Reusable, washable, and specific enough in its color that the person receiving it will remember where it came from.
MADE FROM 100% LINEN, HANDMADE BY FLUENT IN HOME, OAKLAND, CALIFORNIA
Linen is one of the oldest and most durable natural textiles in the world, made from the flax plant and requiring no irrigation or pesticides to grow. It gets softer with every wash, holds its structure without stiffening, and ages into itself rather than wearing out. Fluent in Home, a female-owned small studio in Oakland, works with linen as a living material: each bag is cut and sewn by hand, which means no two are exactly alike. The grosgrain ribbon closure in classic navy and red adds a stripe of something marine and French to an already very good object. Fits a standard 750ml wine or spirit bottle. Washable. Reusable indefinitely.
